Product Overview

Enterobacteria Enrichment Broth (Mossel) is a selective enrichment medium formulated for the detection and recovery of members of the family Enterobacteriaceae from food, water, and environmental samples. It is widely used in microbiological quality control and complies with various standard testing protocols.

The medium contains bile salts and selective agents that inhibit Gram-positive organisms, while allowing the growth of enteric Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, and Enterobacter. Nutrients present in the medium support the recovery and multiplication of target organisms, even when present in low numbers or in stressed conditions.

🛠️ How to Use

1. Suspend the required quantity of the medium in distilled water.

2. Heat to dissolve completely and sterilize by autoclaving.

3. Cool to appropriate temperature before use.

4. Inoculate the sample aseptically.

5. Incubate at 35–37°C for 18–24 hours.

6. Observe for turbidity indicating bacterial growth.
