🧪 Composition (Typical)

  • Pancreatic Digest of Casein : 15.0 g

  • Papaic Digest of Soybean Meal : 5.0 g

  • Sodium Chloride: 5.0 g

  • Agar: 15.0 g

  • Final pH: 7.3 ± 0.2 at 25°C


🛠️ How to Use

  1. Suspend the required quantity of dehydrated medium in purified/distilled water.
  2. Heat with constant stirring to dissolve completely.
  3. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes (15 psi).
  4. Cool the medium to 45–50°C.
  5. Pour into sterile Petri plates or dispense into tubes/slants.
  6. Allow to solidify under aseptic conditions.
  7. Inoculate using appropriate microbiological technique (streaking/spread/pour plate).
  8. Incubate at 30–37°C for 18–48 hours (depending on organism).

Storage and Shelf Life

  • Dehydrated medium: 10–30°C, dry, away from moisture
  • Protect from humidity and direct sunlight
  • Prepared plates: 2–8°C, use within 5–7 days
  • Shelf life: 2–3 years (sealed, dehydrated form)
